Make it a day trip or spend the night; enjoy the charm that this small village has to offer, and escape from your hectic life to a more serene and relaxed atmosphere.
Located inside the Blue Ridge Parkway, Blowing Rock is named after the the Blowing Rock. A tourist destination that has strong gusty winds. I won’t give all the details about the attraction, but definitely add it to your must see and do list. While there take the kids on a ride at Tweetsie Railroad, ski at Appalachian mountain, enjoy the numerous outdoor activities, take a picnic on the scenic parkway or just relax. For enjoying a nice meal, I recommend Twigs, a local favorite fine dining restaurant, or take the whole family to Bistro Roca.
The town of Blowing Rock and surrounding areas offer visitors many quaint shops and dining, breath taking scenic mountain views, hiking, fishing, and the proximity to many of the state’s parks. The drive is easy and short; take I-85 to highway 321 North and you’ll find yourself there in less than two hours. Make it a day trip or spend the night!
